Dr. Martin Barker
Dr. Martin Barker is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and of the University of Victoria Kinesiology program. He has received an eclectic chiropractic education, taking courses on many adjusting techniques and in chiropractic pediatrics. Although not a sports specialist, Dr. Barker has worked with and participated in many sports and enjoys working with the unique needs of the athlete.
Dr. Barker chose to pursue a doctoral career during his tenure working at the Crofton Mill in the now defunct Stone Mill. Not being an advocate of ‘drug’ therapies and having been exposed to chiropractic through a previous Martial Arts Instructor, who was also a chiropractor, Dr. Barker chose chiropractic as his field of choice.
Dr. Barker has been a resident of the Cowichan Valley since 1993 and has loved every moment here. He participates in local ice hockey, drop-in volleyball, is an avid hiker and outdoorsman, and every now-and-then, he participates in sailing races in the region.

Research is a passion for her. She currently works on Shaw Spotlight TV (Channel 4). Silent Cheer Entrepreneurship continues to be an important part of Dr. Roback’s professional life. She continues to work with Chapters-Indigo to promote her book “A Silent Cheer: Against the Odds” across Canada, an inspirational story about overcoming adversity. Additional copies have been donated to Greater Victoria Public Library, Yellowknife Public Library, Calgary Public Library, Alberta Legislature Library and Northwest Territories Legislature Library.
